My Stay at the Alderwood Resort

Hello! I was given the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Alderwood Resort last week for a few days! The resort is located in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin on the Chain of Lakes. The resort has four different cabins: Bayview, Lakeview, Beachview, and The Lodge. We stayed in The Lodge!

It’s just about a 4.5 hour drive from Milwaukee and 6.25 hour drive from Chicago, and the drive up is beautiful! The Lodge features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a modern kitchen with an adorable breakfast nook, a sun-room and a spacious living room with a fireplace! It also comes with access to the resort amenities such as private docks, swimming area, swing-set and horseshoe pit, lending library of books and games, bike rentals, rowboats, kayaks and canoes!

Enjoying the cutest breakfast nook!

Eating in the Area

The great part about this resort was that we didn’t need to leave very much. We went to a local grocery store and stocked up on some essentials and made most our meals in the comfort of the cabin. The other great part about this resort is that if you do want to get out and about, you have a ton of options!

For lunch one day, we stopped at The Thirsty Whale in Minoqua! Everything was absolutely delicious! It was a little chilly when we were there, but they do have seating outside right on the water.

We also made a stop at a local Hawaiian Ice Stand, Summer Ice Shanty and it was literally the best thing I’ve ever had. I’ve joked to my husband multiple times since we’ve been home that it’s worth the four hour drive just to get more shaved ice!

Hiking in the Area

We were feeling adventurous and decided to go to Copper Falls State Park! This was about an hour and twenty minute drive, but totally worth it! Any excuse to take a drive in the Northwoods is an adventure in and of itself.

This park did not disappoint. We were the only ones there and the falls were loud and peaceful at the same time!

Overall, I can’t say enough about how amazing it was to go relax in the great Northwoods! It was great to spend some time with just my husband, but I hope to go back with a big group in the future! Make sure you make plans to visit The Alderwood Resort this summer, and I guarantee you, you won’t regret it!
